Reigning world champion Max Verstappen was eliminated from the Austrian Grand Prix in the opening lap due to a collision with Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Antonelli missed his braking point and crashed into Verstappen during the uphill run towards Turn 3, causing terminal damage to both cars.
The incident led to the deployment of the safety car, with Lando Norris maintaining his lead after the restart, followed by Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc.
Lewis Hamilton battled with George Russell to secure fourth place, while Antonelli faces a potential grid drop for the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone pending an investigation by the FIA race stewards.
